The year 2020 is barely halfway, and the world has already suffered many natural disasters, tragedies, deaths, regional conflicts and a new virus outbreak; some of these being, The downing of the Ukrainian Plane, Donald trump’s impeachment, Locust invasion in Eastern Africa, The Covid-9 virus outbreak, Australia’s deadly bush fires, Kobe Bryant’s tragic death and not to say the least the death of our very own Tony Onyango- who was a rugby player. With 9 months to go, what the year 2020 may bring seems daunting to predict in the face of the tsunami of bad news and conflicts.
Nevertheless, we still live and hope for a better tomorrow.
To start with I’m sorry that i’ve started the blog on such a low note, ruminating on how we started the year 2020, and secondly I apologise for having kept away from the blog post for this long. It’s been almost an year, I think! Up until 2019 I’d never suffered a real set back before, you know the kind of life event that appears to come from no where and completely knocks the wind out of your sails and derails everything of importance in a split second.
I’ve always been the type of person who’s always pushing forward, striving for more and ticking achievements off my lists with glee but for the first time in my life all that ground to a rather abrupt halt. I didn’t know how to move forward anymore because I was stuck in a never ending cycle of unknowing, self doubt , beating myself up and allowing negative energy to get through to me. Nothing could have prepared me for how long it would go on for and i certainly couldn’t have predicted how much of an effect it had on me.
Except for family and friends, which I scraped by on, everything stopped including taking care of myself and by the first quarter of the year I was getting ill so often, constantly lethargic, stopped exercising, almost getting into depression and my daily cup of coffee had doubled sometimes even tripled.
So I made some changes there and life has been better every day. Taking one step at a time and remembering to stop and breathe. Enough of my small ramble. I’m welcoming puritierutere.com to the year 2020, with one of my favorite things to do stock taking for the month.
Enjoy!
Making: The best out of life. Last year was a difficult year for me as mentioned earlier and one of the resolutions that I made was to think positively out of every situation , especially the negative ones and hoping for a better tomorrow.
Cooking: Coconut Chicken with Ugali, because everyone deserves some good cooking.
Drinking: atleast 4 litres of water everyday. As tasking as it seems, i must admit it’s always refreshing at the end of the day and I feel less fatigued even in my most hectic days at the work place. Sometimes I add a little lemon & some mint leaves when i’m tired of the plain water. that way I don’t get loose track of my daily goal. Best lifestyle change ever.
Reading: Snakes In Suits. If there’s one habit I’ve got into more and more over the last year, to really impact my life and mindset, its consuming more books. But not just any books, its all the books I’ve never been able to get past the first chapter of, which doesn’t sound all that interesting or exciting. So far so good I’d say.🎆
Wanting: To start gifting 🎁my friends this year. Starting with their birthdays and holidays such as christmas.
Starting: to save up for black friday & christmas🎄. Also, I started baking cakes for sale. The journey so far has been fullfilling and I’m loving every bit of it.
Working: On a business page for all my confectioneries. 🍩🍬🍭🍫🍪🍰 Also it will smoothen the business process.
Loving: Each and every moment of my life.♥
Listening: To some, french and spanish music. 🎼🎻
Watching: Dynasty season 3. If your genre is family drama , you’ll definitely love the show.🎬🎥
Opening: a home🏡 bakery. Tastier treats are coming your way.
Have a lovely week ahead. See you soon.
